To live. To fly. To be free….you make me run…make me want to live. Little girl dreaming of the day that she will move and flow in the way that she feels. Feeling the floor become one with her as she presses her feet into it, she turns. Turning, twirling, feeling her body move with such freedom. A glance in the mirror…simple smile, as she presses, kicks, and throws her arms to the sky. Like she could go on forever. The music flowing through her body as it becomes one with her, pushing her to greatness. She runs…leaps…and holds her movement to create those lines. Lines of beauty. Telling her story as she throws herself into her dance. Tears come. She remembers those days, when she moved with such grace…looking back at the little girl she once was. To now, who is moved by the dance. The dance in her heart.
Nothing is more moving to me then watching a dancer and their story expressed on the floor. The passion, the drive, the pure joy that is brought by feeling, feeling their dream. It inspires me beyond words. It touches me, brings a tear to my eye. The determination a dancer has to keep working to keep pushing their bodies…just to feel. Feel what is in their heart. I am grateful everyday that I have felt this simple joy of pushing my body…letting myself feel my inner soul by movement. As a teacher, nothing is greater then helping my small dancers realize their potential and seeing their passion for the art…come alive. To be apart of their journey…a journey that will touch them forever.
